Product details

CTS — Cement and Tile Shield (Safe-Acid Cement and Tile Cleaner)

CTS — Cement and Tile Shield is a professional safe-acid cement and tile cleaner engineered for builder’s cleans. It dissolves cement residue, grout haze, mortar smears and efflorescence on hard surfaces, then rinses clean. The formula uses an organic acid system with a low-odour profile and a corrosion-inhibitor package to help reduce attack on aluminium frames, tools and plant when used as directed.

How it works

CTS targets alkaline cementitious deposits (calcium hydroxide/carbonate). The acid system converts these residues into water-soluble salts while wetting agents drive rapid penetration at the interface. Inhibitors help protect compatible metals during short, controlled dwell times, improving equipment friendliness compared with mineral acids such as hydrochloric.

Where to use

  • Ceramic and porcelain tiles
  • Brick and blockwork; render
  • Concrete paths and slabs; pavers
  • Formwork, trowels and scrapers
  • Mixers, trucks and other site tools

Do not use on natural stone including marble, limestone, travertine or terrazzo; on zinc/galvanised surfaces; or on coated/sealed floors without a successful patch test. Aluminium and glass are workable only when diluted, kept wet and rinsed immediately.

Directions

  1. Pre-wet cool surfaces and mask acid-sensitive items.
  2. Apply CTS at the chosen dilution. Keep the surface wet and allow 2–5 minutes dwell.
  3. Agitate with a brush or white pad as required.
  4. Rinse thoroughly with clean water.
  5. Neutralise any residue with a mild alkaline rinse (for example Grease Shield).
  6. Repeat if required using the lowest effective strength. Use with ventilation; do not inhale vapours.
